Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced IT and Operations Manager to oversee and optimize our internal systems and supporting processes across our business. This role will primarily focus on IT management - ensuring reliability, security, and scalability of our systems - while also supporting compliance, policy development, and operational processes. The successful candidate will combine strong technical knowledge with operational experience to streamline supporting processes, improve efficiency, and safeguard compliance.
Key Responsibilities
IT Systems & Infrastructure
- Manage day-to-day IT operations, including systems administration, service desk oversight, hardware/software lifecycle, manages and is owner of JML across the landscapes, and user support across multiple geographies.
- Oversee incident management and ensure incidents are logged for internal IT Ticketing systems and operational reporting e.g: Monthly reporting for risks and operations
- Oversee implementation, upgrades, and integrations of internal IT platforms (e.g., collaboration tools, enterprise apps, cloud services).
- Support IT administration tasks, including asset management, licenses, and vendor coordination.
- Ensure data security and system resilience through regular monitoring and backups.
- Initiate improvements and lead those to enhance and optimise IT administration and compliance e.g. via automation opportunities and enhanced use of MS365 functionality.
- Lead security awareness initiatives, including training and phishing simulations
Operations & Compliance
- Maintain documentation relating to global IT policies and procedures, with guidance from the CISO.
- Continuous improvement of IT policies and procedures to align with changing regulatory requirements, ISO27001 standards, and the evolving needs of the business.
- Automate and optimise internal IT processes.
- Monitor compliance with information security policies, including data protection and privacy standards (e.g., GDPR) across the group, and report findings to senior management
- Conduct annual audits of processes and systems to identify risks and improvement opportunities.
- Facilitate the development of Turnkey’s Knowledge Management system to meet the needs of a growing business
- Provide training and guidance to staff on IT systems, processes, and compliance requirements
- Identify improvements and implement those to optimise compliance activities via available technology
- Serve as the point of contact for external IT, security vendors, and consultants, including supplier due diligence
About You
We are looking for an independent, proactive and ambitious individual who thrives in a small to mid-size company. Ideally you will have 5+ years of hands-on experience in IT operations, and a service-oriented mindset. As well as providing leadership, you’ll be prepared to roll your sleeves up and engage with stakeholders from across the wider business.
Required Skills & Experience
Key attributes we are looking for are:
- Proactive and independent, with excellent organisational skills.
- Strong knowledge of IT systems administration, data security, and compliance requirements.
- Proven experience developing and implementing policies, procedures, and compliance frameworks.
- 5–10 years of experience in IT operations, support, infrastructure, or related functions
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with a global mindset.
- Ability to explain technical concepts clearly and concisely.
- Ability to work effectively across cultures, time zones, and regulatory environments.
- Enjoy working in small teams and being hands-on to deliver outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field
Salary: We offer a competitive salary, commensurate with experience, expertise, and qualifications.
Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. However, in the course of fulfilling your duties and responsibilities, you may be required to travel outside Malaysia as directed by the Company.
